On 30 October 2025, in Tashkent, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the non-governmental non-profit organisation “Centre for Sustainable Development” and the University for the Study of Environment and Climate Change of Central Asia (Green University).
The document is aimed at implementing joint initiatives in the fields of sustainable development, climate change mitigation, environmental protection, and the “green economy”.
The scope of cooperation envisages the following:
• conducting joint scientific research and implementing innovative projects in the areas of climate change and ecology;
• establishing internships, professional development courses, and academic mobility programmes for students, postgraduate students, and young scholars;
• carrying out educational and information campaigns aimed at fostering an ecological culture among the population, particularly among youth and women;
• organising international conferences, forums, and roundtable discussions in Uzbekistan and the region;
• introducing international legal best practices into the process of improving national legislation, and collaborating with foreign experts.
The signed document will serve as a solid foundation for joint initiatives over the coming five years. It is also expected to make a meaningful contribution to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals at both the national and regional levels.
