Seminar and Round-Table Discussion Held on "A Strong Family – A Prosperous Society"

    On 13 May 2026, a seminar and round-table discussion on the theme "A Strong Family – A Prosperous Society" was held in the city of Tashkent. The event was organized to ensure the implementation of Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. UP-33 of 3 March 2026, "On Additional Organizational and Legal Measures to Strengthen the Protection of the Rights of Women and Children and to Prevent Cases of Pressure and Violence Against Them."

    During the seminar, legal issues were discussed relating to strengthening the institution of the family, preventing early marriages, the legal registration of marriage, the significance of the marriage contract, the prevention of divorce, and the fulfilment of alimony obligations.

    The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Deputy Khokim of the city of Tashkent who serves as Head of the Department for Family and Women's Affairs, as well as deputy khokims of districts and activists working with women in the mahallas.

    As part of the seminar, a representative of the Centre for Sustainable Development presented the findings of a social study on the theme "Young People's Attitudes Toward Early Marriage and Its Socio-Demographic Consequences." The presentation provided information on young people's attitudes toward early marriage, the results of a survey on the impact of this phenomenon on family stability and the social environment, and the analytical conclusions drawn.

    At the conclusion of the event, participants shared their views and observations on the topic, put forward practical proposals and initiatives, and emphasized the need to further strengthen measures aimed at reinforcing the institution of the family, preventing early marriages, and improving the legal literacy of women.
