Tashkent, November 10, 2025. — The Sustainable Development Center held a seminar with the participation of mahalla chairpersons of the capital, dedicated to the topic "The Role of the Mahalla System in the 'Uzbekistan — 2030' Strategy and Its Significance in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals."
At the event, Avazbek Khalbekov, an expert of the center, presented information on the key directions of the "Uzbekistan — 2030" strategy and their alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals. He emphasized that the strategy identifies priority objectives in the areas of economic growth, the development of education and healthcare, the creation of a healthy ecological environment, ensuring fair and effective public administration, as well as strengthening national security.
The seminar particularly highlighted that the "mahalla sevens" system serves as a vital practical mechanism for the implementation of these objectives. Through this system, opportunities are expanding for resolving community issues at the local level, strengthening the "family–school–mahalla" partnership, and effectively organizing public oversight.
Furthermore, the institution of the "mahalla sevens" was recognized as a significant practical instrument for advancing such Sustainable Development Goal directions as "poverty reduction," "quality education," "gender equality," and "sustainable communities."
At the conclusion of the seminar, participants received answers to their questions and were provided with additional clarifications regarding the interrelationship between the national strategy and the Sustainable Development Goals.
