Evolution of Scientific Views on Sustainable Regional Development: Theoretical Foundations and Contemporary Trends

A scientific article by Avazbek Khalbekov, Head of Department at the Sustainable Development Centre, has been published in the international peer-reviewed journal American Journal of Economics and Business Management, under the title "Evolution of Scientific Views on Sustainable Regional Development: Theoretical Foundations and Contemporary Trends." The article provides a comprehensive scientific analysis of the formation and developmental stages of the sustainable development concept, along with its economic, social, and environmental dimensions.

Furthermore, the study examines the evolutionary progression of sustainable development theory across various stages, systematising the key international processes and scholarly approaches that influenced its formation. The author proposes an original periodisation model encompassing the developmental stages of the sustainable development concept.

The findings of the study demonstrate that the effective implementation of sustainable development principles holds significant importance for enhancing the economic potential of regions, strengthening investment attractiveness, and ensuring economic and social stability. In this regard, the article puts forward practical recommendations for improving contemporary governance mechanisms.
