On 31 March 2026, a "Career Day" job fair was organised at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies with the aim of fostering effective cooperation between students and employing organisations. The event held significant importance as an initiative directed at integrating young professionals into the labour market, developing their professional potential, and ensuring sustainable employment.
Representatives of state institutions, joint-stock companies, non-governmental non-profit organisations, and the private sector participated actively in the event. In particular, the Centre for Sustainable Development took an active part in the event, providing final-year students with detailed information on the organisation's activities, priority directions, and available opportunities. Representatives of the Centre offered explanations regarding the organisation's core objectives, ongoing projects, and the work being carried out to implement the principles of sustainable development.
Furthermore, representatives of the Centre for Sustainable Development briefed final-year students on the directions of the Centre's activities, including the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals, programmes being implemented in the environmental, social, and economic spheres, as well as internship and employment opportunities available to young people. During the event, students had the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with Centre specialists, receive answers to questions of interest, and discuss prospects for future cooperation.
The participation of the Centre for Sustainable Development in this event was of particular significance, with special attention devoted to issues of ensuring youth employment, enhancing their knowledge and skills in the field of sustainable development, and promoting innovative approaches. This approach serves not only to provide employment for young people, but also to shape them as socially responsible specialists oriented towards sustainable development. At the same time, the Centre distributed informational materials for students, broadly highlighting the importance of sustainable development principles in the contemporary labour market.
The "Career Day" event was implemented in close alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In particular, this initiative contributed to supporting Goal 4 — Quality Education, Goal 8 — Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 17 — Partnerships for the Goals. Within the framework of the event, students were afforded the opportunity to engage directly with employers in their respective professional fields, thereby contributing to enhancing their competitiveness in the labour market.
At the conclusion of the event, special gratitude was expressed to the Centre for Sustainable Development by the faculty of Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and the Institute of Foreign Policy and International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan. For its commendable contribution to nurturing the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and professional dedication, the Centre's staff was honoured with a LETTER OF APPRECIATION from the university administration.
