On 26 January 2026, a scientific-practical seminar was held at Alfraganus University, jointly organized by the Centre for Sustainable Development and the Tashkent Ecological Party. The seminar was dedicated to the priority directions and tasks outlined in the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan, delivered on 26 December 2025.
The primary objective of the event was to discuss strategic tasks aimed at aligning the principles of sustainable development with national development priorities, strengthening ecological responsibility, and ensuring social justice and public welfare.
During the roundtable discussion, particular attention was paid to the priority directions identified in the President's Address, including the affirmation of human dignity, ensuring sustainable economic growth, maintaining ecological balance, and establishing effective, people-centred governance.
The event brought together representatives of state and public organizations, political party members, faculty and academic staff, researchers, and youth. Participants exchanged views on the practical implementation of the ideas and tasks set forth in the Address, the strengthening of civic engagement, and the development of open and accountable governance mechanisms.
In the course of discussions, emphasis was placed on the urgency of institutionally consolidating approaches aimed at ensuring sustainable economic development, environmental security, and social protection, as well as placing the interests of the people at the forefront of public administration. The role and significance of educational and research institutions in advancing these reforms were also specifically highlighted.
Based on the outcomes of the event, practical proposals and recommendations were formulated aimed at further expanding cooperation among state bodies, political parties, educational institutions, and civil society organizations in the implementation of the tasks defined in the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
