On July 12, 2026, the Khorezm regional television and radio company hosted a scientific and practical roundtable devoted to the topic "The Substance of the Resolution Adopted by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly on Strengthening Regional Cooperation and Economic Integration to Ensure Sustainable Development in the Central Asian Region." The event brought together senior staff of the Khorezm regional television and radio company, representatives of national media outlets, and heads of the national cultural centers operating in the region. Professor B. Ruzmetov, head of the Khorezm regional branch for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), delivered a keynote address at the forum and gave detailed interviews to the country's leading television channels — in particular Uzbekistan 24, the Khorezm television and radio company, and the regional radio station.
In his address, Professor B. Ruzmetov focused on the conceptual aspects of this international document and analyzed the strategic directions it sets out. In particular, the resolution identifies as a priority the full use of Central Asia's collective and internal potential, along with ensuring the unimpeded and free movement of people, goods, services, and capital within the region — measures that will help intensify cross-border trade ties and fundamentally upgrade logistics infrastructure. It was also specially noted that, for the first time at the UN level, the resolution puts forward the establishment of direct ties between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of the region's states and the strengthening of industrial cooperation. According to the professor, these measures are the key factor in enhancing the resilience of the regional economy and creating new jobs for the younger generation. In conclusion, addressing the resolution's global significance, it was emphasized that the document regards Central Asia not merely as an area confined to its domestic market, but as a strategic and geopolitical bridge linking it to the major transnational economic systems of Europe and Asia.
