On November 14, 2025, a roundtable discussion was held at the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Affairs of Compatriots Abroad on the topic "People's Diplomacy and Religious Tolerance as an Effective Instrument of Interethnic Dialogue: The Experience of New Uzbekistan." The event was attended by representatives of government bodies, non-governmental and religious organizations, academic institutions, and national cultural centres.
The roundtable addressed the policy of people's diplomacy and religious tolerance being implemented in New Uzbekistan, its significance in strengthening interethnic dialogue, and issues related to ensuring mutual respect, solidarity, and peace among representatives of different nationalities and faiths.
In his address, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development E. Saminov congratulated the participants on the occasion of International Tolerance Day, observed on November 16, and emphasized that in the current global context — marked by growing conflicts between ethnic and religious communities and an escalating trend of radicalization — the broad promotion of universal human values such as tolerance, mutual understanding, and harmony has become more important than ever.
At the conclusion of the event, participants visited the pavilion of national cultural centres, where they familiarized themselves with the cultural heritage of representatives of various peoples. This visit further strengthened the atmosphere of dialogue and solidarity.
The roundtable once again demonstrated that people's diplomacy is a vital instrument for ensuring interethnic and interfaith harmony in New Uzbekistan. The views and proposals expressed during the event will serve to further consolidate peace, stability, and cohesion throughout the country.
