The Center for Sustainable Development serves as a “think tank” dedicated to the scientific and analytical study of sustainable development principles in Uzbekistan, their practical implementation, and the support of state policy and institutional reforms in this field. The principal objectives of the Center’s activities are as follows: facilitating the consistent achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations; conducting fundamental and applied research in the field of civil society development in the country, and formulating strategic recommendations based on the findings; organizing the study and analysis of social partnership and public oversight in the sphere of information society formation in the country; developing proposals for enhancing effective cooperation between state bodies and civil society institutions, as well as modern mechanisms for their support and incentivization; developing and introducing indicators to assess the cooperation and contribution of civil society institutions and state bodies in ensuring sustainable socio-economic and political-legal development, and preparing scientific-analytical reports on this basis; providing informational, advisory, and methodological assistance to state bodies and socio-political organizations based on the analysis of socio-economic and political-legal processes and the development of international relations; studying and conducting systematic analysis of the participation of civil society institutions in the processes of deepening democratic reforms, as well as analyzing their efforts in protecting the rights and legitimate interests of individuals and legal entities. The Center’s activities are guided by the principles of openness, scientific rigor, and effective partnership. It invites international experts and partners to engage with cutting-edge ideas and research in the field of sustainable development, to exchange experience, and to implement joint initiatives.
